It is so rare to see dudes following, let alone a dude following exceptionally well and with a hip hop flavour. It’s also a routine with a damned lot of fun and humour and a whole bucket load of skill.
Watching these guys? It’s easy to see that hip hop and break dancing had its roots in swing.

Frankie Manning was a godfather of swing dance. He was one of the original Harlem swing dancers and a wealth of swing knowledge. He passed away a few years ago.
The Shim Sham is a type of swing line dance that gets broken out in swing communities. This video beautifully illustrates the fantastic swing community around the globe. Swing dance and swing music is such an expression of joy, energy and community.
